Expert meeting in Nagyvárad

Last November, the Director General of the authority was invited to a summit in Nagyvárad, at which the participants agreed to set up a joint working group. As a result, the first meeting of the working group was held  in Hajdúszoboszló. The meeting was attended by the experts and leaders of the Hungarian Authority for Consumer Protection and the Romanian Consumer Protection Authoritity, as well as the directors of Maros, Szatmárnémeti and Bihor counties in Romania and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, Békés, Csongrád and Hajdú-Bihar counties in Hungary. >>>

The participants discussed, among other things, the further stages of cooperation between the authorities of the two countries, the schedule of the development of inspection plans, the scope of responsibilities of Consumer Protection Inspectorates, the methods of imposing consumer protection fines, and the rules for enforcing other legal consequences.

 

The representatives of each country described the steps used by them during their inspection activities, the system of legal remedies, the procedure of sampling, and the subjects of theme inspections carried out over the last year. The experts of both countries found the two-day conference extremely useful, and expressed their hope to be able to conduct similar negotiations in the future, both at central and regional levels.
